The Korea Times - US Drama 'Lost' to Broadcast on KBS
"Lost," an American television drama that includes Korean actress Kim Yoon-jin in its cast, will be broadcast on KBS starting next month.
The show, about a group of plane crash survivors stranded on a mysterious island, began broadcasting on ABC in the United States in September. Originally slated for a 13-episode run, "Lost" became one of the top-rated shows this year by averaging more than 17 million viewers each week, and has added another 10 episodes due to its popularity.
Among the characters in the show are a Korean couple who speak little English - Sun, played by Kim, and Jin, played by Daniel Dae Kim. Other actors in the cast include Matthew Fox, Dominic Monaghan, Evangeline Lilly and Naveen Andrews.
"Lost" will run on KBS2 at 1 p.m. on Saturdays starting Dec. 25. This will be the first time for KBS to import a show that is still running in the States rather than waiting for the season to end. Read the full story here.

Lost-TV Switches Servers; Media and Pictures Sections Down
Yep, bandwidth for my server is done for the month, so we've moved servers temporarily. As a result, the Media and Pictures sections are down for the rest of the month. Rest assured that they'll be back by the end of the month, before the next new episode airs on December 1!

Lost-TV to Switch Servers Temporarily; Expect Minimal Downtime
Once again, it's that time of the month when bandwidth runs out on my current host. So now, I'm switching servers again (temporarily) to avoid a long downtime. In any case, when the site finally switches, don't expect to see the Media and Pictures pages; they'll be down for the rest of the month. Please bear with us as we try to find a solution for these bandwidth problems. Thank you!

The New York Times - How 'Lost' Careered Into Being a Hit Show
The speed with which ABC's Wednesday night breakout hit drama "Lost" went from a network executive's half-baked suggestion to one of the most elaborate and expensive pilots ever filmed was brain blurring.
Determined to see his idea into the fall lineup, Lloyd Braun, then head of ABC Entertainment, brought together J. J. Abrams, the producer of the funhouse-mirror spy drama "Alias,'' and Damon Lindelof, a writer for "Crossing Jordan,'' to kick around his idea about plane crash survivors stranded on an island, a notion that he freely admitted was inspired by the reality show "Survivor.'' The result has been a show among the top 10 this season.
"I met Damon for the first time on a Monday," Mr. Abrams remembered. "By that Friday we had written a 20-page outline. And they green-lit the pilot on Saturday. At that point, we didn't even have a script, but in less than 12 weeks we had to start shooting."
That wasn't the hard part. And transporting the wreckage of an L-1011 jetliner to the show's location on Oahu may have been daunting, but doable. But of all the logistical nightmares that deadline represented none were more daunting than finding actors for the unusually large and internationally diverse ensemble cast - as the parts were still being written.... Boston Herald - Found: Monaghan avoids typecasting with 'Lost' role
His meeting with executive producer J.J. Abrams convinced him that "Lost," a one-hour drama about 48 passengers who survive a plane crash, was not your typical television fare.
"This seemed to be a new break in television. It made me think, `Wow, these guys are really trying to push the medium a little bit, and I should get involved with it."
He's not surprised that the series has become one of the breakout hits of the season.
"I don't think I would get involved with something I didn't think people would watch. Everybody talked about the show being a big risk, but I don't really see it as a big risk. It was a calculated risk."
Monaghan earned a fellowship of fans from the "Rings" trilogy, and a quick search of the Web reveals a plethora of sites dedicated to him.
"I try to stay away from it as much as I can," he said. "I'm aware of some of it, but I think it's kind of unhealthy to be scoping around, checking out how many people are talking about your new haircut."... Read the full story here.

Dark Horizons - Paul Dini Gives "Lost" Spoilers
   (SPOILERS! Be wary.)
...After the clip it was asked if Standards and Practices had issues with the show since it was an 8PM EST slotted show. Paul said that they rarely worry about that kind of thing although they did wonder if they would be able to go ahead with the drug storyline for Charlie. ABC is fully behind the show and it rarely sends in notes to the writing team. The decision to air the show in "Pan and Scan" was the network's decision and the DVDs feature widescreen transfers of the show.
One of the original marketing plans was to release the DVD of the two hour pilot some three weeks after it aired. ABC moved on to the concept of just re-airing the show, like NBC and CBS do now, on Saturdays for those viewers who need to catch up. DVD sets are planned with deleted scenes but Disney and Bad Robot have not decided on any release dates yet. Some time last year ABC decided that they, like the other networks, needed to have a series shot in Hawaii. LOST was ABC's attempt to have a scripted or dramatic version of Survivor. Although ABC preferred to think of it as a "deserted island" show.... Read the full story here.

Lost Reviewed on RevolutionSF
A review of Lost has been posted by Joe Crowe on RevolutionSF. He gives the show a 9 out of 10. An excerpt from the review: So far there have been no answers to anything, and I like it that way. I prefer the mystery, as maddening as it might soon become. Because if we find out that there's a dinosaur — for example — then the show becomes Jurassic Park: The Series. If we find out they're on an alternate Earth, then it becomes Lost Planet. If it turns out that everyone died in the crash and they're all in purgatory, it becomes Melrose Place.

Josh Holloway is Meg's Boyfriend of the Week
This week, Meg has selected Josh Holloway (Sawyer) as her Boyfriend of the Week. Here's an excerpt from her (absolutely hilarious) write-up: Those have got to be the most perfect, most totally sexy, most absolutely drool-worthy dimples ever to grace the planet Earth. They're unholy, actually. Totally unholy. Because all they inspire in me is an overwhelming urge to break the Seventh Commandment (the one about adultery, heaven forgive me).
