TV.com - TV.com Top 100 Everything of 2008
Scour the Internet and you'll find a bunch of the same top 10 lists out there: Top Ten Shows, Top Ten Actors, Top Ten Reality Moments, and so forth. We decided to wrap up 2008 with a little more fun than the typical list gives.

In this gargantuan Top 100 list, we go a little out of the box by looking at specific elements of television--both on-screen and off-screen--that we thought were the most memorable this year.

Webmaster's note: I've compiled all the Lost references and linked them to each specific page they're listed on. Check out TV.com to read the entire list.

97. Lostpedia.com
The go-to source for all your Lost needs, Lostpedia helps us make sense of what we just watched and catches us up on the little details we missed. If it happens in the Lost universe, it's there. Get extensive background information on Vincent the dog, but beware of spoilers!

70. The introduction of Lost's Freighter Folk
Introducing four new characters to a show is challenging enough. Doing it all in one episode--and doing it well--is practically impossible. Yet Lost gave us Faraday, Miles, Charlotte, and Lapidus flawlessly in "Confirmed Dead," without ever taking away from the main story. This almost makes up for Nikki and Paolo. Almost.

36. Damon & Carlton's Lost podcasts
No other showrunners in television are connected to their fans like Lost's Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. Even though the dynamic duo's schedule is jam-packed, they always manage to put together podcasts that answer (sometimes) fans' questions, give hints, and manage to be very entertaining. The Lost experience always goes beyond the 44-minute program, and these podcasts are a great example.

20. Flash forwards
Lost has always been known for its flashbacks, but season four (well, technically season three) introduced a new twist for ABC's drama: the flashforward. Suddenly Lost became about the castaway's post-island life, and we decided that was awesome. The tactic even reinvigorated Desperate Housewives, which gave us a peek five years into the future of Wisteria Lane.

18. TV's presence at Comic-Con
If you are a fan of television, there's no better place to be than the annual Comic-Con International conference in San Diego in July. The convention gets bigger and bigger each year, and television's role at Comic-Con is growing at an even faster pace. Where else can you see Damon Lindelof, Hayden Panettiere, Katee Sackhoff, and the guy who played Chewbacca over the course of a few days? Plus it's open to the public, so start putting together that Viper pilot costume and buy your tickets early.

2. Lost 4.05: "The Constant"
Network television may be taking its lumps as of late, but the best piece of the boob tube happened on ABC in 2008. The fifth episode of season four of Lost was a jaw-dropper that combined some hardcore science-fiction with a good-old-fashioned love story for an hour of compelling television. Sure to go down as one of the best in Lost lore, "The Constant" was a reminder that Lost hasn't lost its touch.
