BIOGRAPHYElizabeth Mitchell, born March 27, 1970, made her breakthrough performance when she starred opposite Angelina Jolie in the acclaimed HBO telefilm "Gia," endearing her to audiences and critics alike. She followed that up with a co-starring role in the film "Frequency," opposite Dennis Quaid. She also appeared in "Nurse Betty," opposite Renée Zellweger and Greg Kinnear, as well as "The Santa Clause 2," with Tim Allen. She most recently appeared in the film "Running Scared," directed by Wayne Kramer, and "The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause."
On television Mitchell starred in the series "The Lyon's Den," opposite Rob Lowe, "The Beast," with Naveen Andrews, and recurred on "ER" as Dr. Lagaspi. She also starred in the telefilm "3: The Dale Earnhardt Story," and has guest starred on "Boston Legal," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," among others.
Mitchell earned a BFA degree in acting from Stephens College and also studied at the British American Drama Academy. Additionally she spent six years at the respected Dallas Theatre Center and one year with the theatre’s Encore Company. Her theatrical stage credits include productions of "As You Like It," "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," "Measure for Measure," "Baby" and "Chicago," among others.
